This Roka was special. My hosts, Shweta’s family, were lovely, Shweta herself is one of the purest souls I know (and has the most radiant smile ever), and there was full feel of Punju, happy vibes permeating through the environs! It helped that this was right in the middle of Chandigarh!

This post is about some of the behind the scenes moments which really made the day what it was. I’ve listed these down as fun memories.
1. The bride-to-be did her own make up!!!
This has to top the list. Not only is she a super happy, chirpy and enthu bride-to-be, Shweta also managed to keep her calm, and do her own make up! For her own event! That seriously has to be one of the gutsiest things a bride-to-be could do! Her make up reflected her own personality – simple and glowy, with a touch of fun and vibrance. She looked radiant!
2. The bride-to-be had an army of dedicated, super cute girlfriends on call!
Well, not just girlfriends, but also siblings and cousins, who made the day such a wonderful time for everyone. From getting creative while putting together the welcome thaali to making Shweta and Apoorv crack up at every given opportunity, these guys really made the day.
3. Touching moments with the grandparents
This was the most touching thing I observed at the Roka. The grandparents were taken care of and their interactions with the couple was very emotional, and touching.
4. FUN couple
There is no other way to describe them – they are FUN. After an hour long session with the studio photographers, when I managed to take photos like this:
… we went out to the garden at the hotel, and took photos like this:
Totally worth it to spend those 20 extra minutes in the lawns! These guys needed ZERO inspiration. They were bubbling with ideas. Such free spirits I tell you. GOOD time!
5. The Swimming Pool Shoot!!!
YES! We walked over to the swimming pool and shot some happy portraits of these folks:
Don’t they look like happy campers? Well, in 35 degrees Chandigarh heat, they were super happy to get their feet wet in the pool! It was a fun, fun time.
All you bride-to-bes out there. If you’d like to get some FUN shots at your wedding, you don’t need a photo booth. All you need is a fun spirit – like Shweta’s and Apoorv’s! Take a leaf out of their book, leave the heels behind and have some fun! But first make sure your candid photographer is around 😛
