An offbeat, family photography session this was, where we let the kids be kids, and also the adults be kids. As a candid family photographer, my job always begins with making sure that the people I’m working with are comfortable, and are having fun. I like getting genuine smiles and laughter from them. I don’t want to be asking 5 year olds to “pose”. If I would do that, I’d get stiff, unnatural smiles – not very flattering! So I let go, and just get everyone to have fun, while I quietly capture them in the midst of it. As an added incentive, this process of running around taking pictures ensures I drop a few pounds after each shoot 😉
